Gold Bond® Brand SoundBreak™ Gypsum Board
National Gypsum Company has introduced Gold Bond® Brand SoundBreak™ Gypsum Board, an acoustically enhanced board used in the construction of high STC wall assemblies. This innovative gypsum board allows for construction of high STC wall assemblies that are thinner, coat effective and more

reliable than traditional methods for constructing these types of assemblies. This 5/8” thick gypsum board consists of a layer of viscoelastic damping polymer sandwiched between two pieces of enhanced high density mold resistant gypsum Board.

Gypsum Board cannot be used as a substitute for 5/8” Type X board in a fire rated assembly, it can be used as an additional layer in all UL fire rated assemblies with out compromising the fire rating. SoundBreak Gypsum Board is available in 4’ wide sheets that are 8, 9, 10 and 12 feet in length.
